Why does a vacuum between the glass walls of a flask reduce heat transfer by conduction and?

or:You need to learn what conduction and convection mean. Conduction means a cold thing gets next to a warm thing and heat flows from one to the other. Remove the air and there is no 'other' for heat to flow to. Convention happens when warm air rises and cool air falls. No air, no convection.
