Why isn't my mouse responding to my PC?

My mouse isnt responding to my PC, but it is responding my touch pad, which I dont like. No it is not the mouse; It worked on someone elses PC. I have

or:Try reinstalling the software that you can download from the mouse's manufacturer for your specific mouse. Also watch some Youtube videos if you can find them.
