Why on planes don't offer parachutes for saving in case of danger?

or:There's no room on planes to put them, they're too expensive, and would make people panic at first view, chances are people traveling are inexperienced sky divers and you can imagine dozens of people jumping at once getting tangled in one another. Its just safer to brace yourself for the cash and hope to survive. Also the reason they fly so high is to arrive at destinations quickly.
