Why would someone put gum in my hair?

Just came to my mind, and it still bothers me when I think about it, so I was at a club one night and all of sudden I touch my hair from the back and I felt a piece of gum, someone must of put when they were behind me? But my question is why would they do that to a stranger? Btw I have beautiful long black thick wavy hair.
