I'm currently a freshman in a very nice public school. I have all of the resources that I need to be successful. My current GPA is 4.04 and I'm in the top 2% of my graduating class. I'm considering going to a private school next year, for various reasons. I have a feeling, though, that my GPA and class rank will be lower at a more prestigious school. Do colleges take this into consideration when reading applications? Will going to a private school help or hurt my chances of getting into top colleges?
