Windmills?

Hello i am a sixteen years old interested in science. I have been looking for a while now how to build a wind turbine that would power a battery. Not knowing anything about electronics this has been difficult for me. Every website i find, mostly tells how to make the windmill it self but fails to mention anything about the electronics. Is there some web sight that tells how to build one step by step including the electronics? Thanks,
Sam

or:I guess you mean a lead-acid battery. That means you can use an automotive alternator, and that means you can get illustrated instructions on how to hook it up, and many people are very familiar with the details. An alternator is typically rated 60 amps, which is near enough to one horsepower. (12 volts times 60 amps equals 720 watts, and a horsepower is 746 watts.) So if you want full power at peak wind speed you need to estimate how fast your windmill will turn and gear it for the desired alternator speed which can be up to 3,000 rpm but you probably would want to keep it around 1500 to 2000. www.google.com/search?site=&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1024&bih=738&q=auto+alternator+wiring+diagramThe Savonius windmill is the simplest to build and easiest to keep working.www.google.com/search?site=&tbm=isch&source=hp&biw=1024&bih=738&q=savonius+windmill
