With dissociation disorder is it normal to be more reckless, searching for danger or adrenaline eg?

i have the ability to shut off my emotions when things in life feel to hard to deal with. ive been told this is called Dissociation disorder. This doesn't happen often, maybe once a year. but during this time i feel numb to everything including fear, danger and pain. i always drive crazy, especially on my motorcycle. I am NOT suicidal.i simply have no fear and search to feel adrenaline, if anyone has dissociation disorder or has felt a similar way please share with me. i currently feel numb, not sad, not happy, just nothing

or:I can relate to this A LOT!.. I myself deal with feeling emotionally numb and dissociated most of the time, and have recently decided to seek help for this problem. Not being able to connect with or derive enjoyment from anything around you is no way to live, and is actually one form of depression. Depression isn't just the stereotypical 'crying all day'.. it can manifest as apathy and emotional flatness as well, which is actual worse in some ways!.. I've noticed I too gravitate toward recklessness and danger as well, whether it's eating extra spicy food because the pain makes me feel more alive, the urge to follow emergency vehicles, or even ... looking forward to drama and bad things happening just to get that rush.. If you're not happy with how you currently feel, than you should really consider reaching out for help from professionals. Just because you're not in agonizing emotional turmoil doesn't mean that what you're dealing with isn't a big problem!.. There's so much joy and fun in life, when you can feel! You shouldn't have to miss out on that!..
