I'm currently a subcontractor for a courier company. 2 weeks ago I fell ill and could not provide service, they were understanding, and I mentioned that I might have to return the vehicle and cease the contract as I'm not fit for work. I since noticed that my earnings for work completed for end of month had been deducted by 30% (it just says remittance on invoice). Now, I haven't officially give notice to terminate contract, and had intentions of working my notice if I did. They also hold a £1000 deposit of mine which I'm guessing I won't see again. Surely they can't withhold more than £1000 of my earnings for services completed. Or can they? U.K answers please
