The Africa Clean Energy Technical Assistance Facility (ACE TAF) has worked with off-grid sector stakeholders to ensure the resources are not duplicative.SAS Knowledge HubABOUT ACE TAFACE TAF is a programme funded by the UK Government Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO) between 2018-2022. It aims to catalyse a market based approach for private sector delivery of renewable energy electrification technologies, with a focus on high quality stand-alone solar systems.Improved access to clean, reliable energy for vulnerable communities across Africa are made available Affordable SAS solutions Affordability is a key barrier for vulnerable groups to access quality stand alone solar products. ACE TAF has provided analyses and recommendations on:     money Alternative consumer financing models.     money How demand side subsidies can support consumers without distorting markets. ACE TAF supported the         launch of the End User Subsidy Lab.     money How government fiscal policies impact cost and access to SAS solutions by developing a Tax Impact         Assessment Tool. protection Improved consumer Reducing poor quality solar products from reaching the market relieves the most marginalized consumers from wasting the limited income they earn.     verified_user 8 out of 14 countries have adopted IEC Quality Standards for solar products.     verified_user Solar Importation Guides have been developed in Nigeria, Kenya, Zimbabwe, Senegal, Ethiopia, Zambia.     verified_user Pre-export verification of conformity processes were developed and launched in Ethiopia.
