Jack Sullivan Receives Alexandria’s 2022 Pickering Environmental Excellence Award April 25, 2022 Jack Sullivan, an advocate for Alexandria's green spaces and waterways, has received the 2022 Ellen Pickering Environmental Excellence Award. A longtime citizen volunteer, Sullivan has spent decades protecting Alexandria’s natural resources, and has served on a variety of City commissions and advisory committees that have significantly contributed to the protection of Alexandria’s open space and tree canopy. Alexandrians Invited to Nominate Local Environmental Stewards February 24, 2022 Nominations for the 2022 Ellen J. Pickering Award are open until March 18, 2022. RiverRenew RiverRenew is the largest infrastructure initiative in the history of Alexandria. RiverRenew includes multiple projects that consist of a new tunnel system and upgrades to Alexandria's wastewater treatment facility.
