AMGEN COMPETITIVE GRANTS Supporting independent research to advance scientific understanding and improve patient care AMGEN COMPETITIVE GRANT PROGRAM Amgen is committed to serving the needs of patients facing serious illness. We advance this mission by developing novel therapies and by supporting externally sponsored research. The Competitive Grant Program provides investigators and scientists with the opportunity to apply for Amgen funding for independent research into mechanisms and impact of specific diseases without focusing on any Amgen product. In this regard, the Competitive Grant Program differs from Investigator Sponsored Studies (ISS) which typically focus on an Amgen product. The selection process for the Competitive Grant Program is performed by an external, independent review committee in each field utilizing a defined set of criteria. This website provides information to researchers seeking financial support from Amgen for a study. Qualified health care professionals, scientists, and researchers with promising ideas in areas of mutual scientific interest are invited to review the program requirements and submit an application. All eligible applications will be reviewed by an independent review committee and awards will be granted on a competitive basis with consideration to the potential for the study to advance science, clinical medicine, and ultimately, patient care.
