We provide feedback and advice to Seattle Parks and Recreation and often act in an advocacy capactiy. The Council provides logistical and financial support for volunteer activities including:The STARS trails volunteersThe WeWo (Weekday Workers) forester volunteersThe Demonstration Garden VolunteersThe Carkeek Watershed Community Action Project salmon program volunteersThe Friends of Piper’s Orchard volunteersWe also take on special projects and plan special events in the park.We are looking for more volunteers. If you are interested in joining CPAC, please contact us at [email protected]. Note: Since COVID-19 hit, we have been holding our meetings virtually. We are planning on holding our June 14th meeting in person in the Carkeek Park administration building. Our meetings our the 2nd Tuesday of the month, every month except August and December. We will gather at 6pm and pull the plug, releasing the fry at about 6:15pm. You can now drive into the park.Please still practice good covid-19 prevention behaviors including social distancing, wearing a mask when around others, and keeping groups to 5 people or less. We had been meeting on the third Tuesday of the month. Our next meeting will be this Tuesday, February 11th at 7pm in the Carkeek Park administration building.
