Jonah TriebwasserVillage and Town of Red Hook Justice Giving ConfidenceAs someone who only handles a few CDL cases every year (usually separated by months) it is difficult to achieve the same level of expertise as one would in cases you handle every week. The National Judicial College’s in person and on-line CDL courses are instrumental in giving me the confidence to preside at CDL cases and know that I’m doing the correct thing. EdmondsGreenville County Chief Magistrate Conversations and ResearchI took away two things from attending the NJC CDL/CMV course; the first was the term MASKING. I deal with a select group of state law enforcement officers whose primary job is CMV and CDL enforcement. Our roads need to be safe and having safe drivers operating these large heavy commercial vehicles is essential. It has also brought much discussion in the court to what masking is and isn’t and the depth of conversation and further research and education to meet those federal guidelines. The second was the opportunity to meet the staff at NJC, the faculty, and judges from all across the country and be able to discuss trends and ways different courts handle various situations. It was an awesome week and I would recommend anyone to attend any classes at the NJC. Hon.
