The EOSC Association is the legal entity established to govern the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC). It was formed on 29th July 2020 with four founding members and has since grown to over 200 Members and Observers. The Association membership is jointly responsible for delivering the objectives agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding signed by the European Union and EOSC Association to form the official Partnership. The EOSC ecosystem is being co-created in a series of funded projects and initiatives from Member States and Associated Countries. The EOSC Association plays an important role in helping to coordinate and steer these investments via its Task Forces and other governance structures. This new European Partnership status will fortify EOSC with European funding of almost €500 million and an in-kind contribution of the partners of also €500 million. The aim is to improve the storing, sharing and especially the combining and reusing of research data across borders and scientific disciplines. Learn more SRIA Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda The overall purpose of the EOSC Strategic Research and Innovation Agenda (SRIA) is to define the general framework for future research, development and innovation activities in relation to the EOSC. This framework will be further developed in the context of the EOSC Partnership, drawing in inputs from Association Members and Task Forces. Learn more Horizon Europe Calls & Grants Research infrastructures (RIs), including EOSC, and technology infrastructures are fundamental enablers of research and technological innovation as well as drivers of multidisciplinary and data-intensive science. The Research Infrastructures work programme is structured around five destinations, one of which is fully dedicated to the European Open Science Cloud. Learn more The EOSC Advisory Groups Implementation of EOSC Metadata and data quality Research careers and curricula Technical challenges on EOSC Sustaining EOSC The Implementation of EOSC Advisory Group is dedicated to address different challenges related to a proper use of the EOSC services and ecosystem at large. Learn more The activities to be pursued in the Metadata and Data Quality Advisory Group align with the overarching objective to implement FAIR within EOSC. In particular they address metadata and ontologies to ensure research objects can be discovered, understood and reused, as well as defining and implementing benchmarks to assess the level of FAIRness and data quality to ensure content can be relied on. Learn more The most important stakeholders for EOSC are the researchers. The Advisory Group Research Careers and Curricula is mainly focused on the researchers. Learn more The Task Forces within the Technical Challenges Advisory Group focus on implementing the technical architecture and interoperability in EOSC. They also provide a steer on strategic areas of future work, such as infrastructure for sharing quality research software. Learn more The long-term survival of EOSC depends on the implementation of a scalable and sustainable EOSC ecosystem, including funding models and integration of national and thematic infrastructures that are closely coupled with the governance structures and legal entity. Viable funding models are an essential element of ensuring an operational, scalable and sustainable EOSC federation. Learn more Join the EOSC Association and shape the future The EOSC Association brings together key stakeholders in the European research environment to agree on strategies for the advancement of Open Science and to optimise the conditions for research outcomes, and ultimately, to make the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC) a reality. EOSC will offer researchers open and seamless services for storing, managing, analysing and re-using research data, and thus accelerate the creation of new knowledge and spur innovation. In joining us you will: Shape the European Open Science Cloud; Guide the strategy for the EOSC implementation phase; Participate in Advisory Groups and General Assembly meetings; Engage in policy dialogues; Network with like-minded people. Together, we can create a European Research Data Commons that will not only benefit Europe but help tackle the societal challenges worldwide. 13 Task forces 200+ Members and observers Join the Association EOSC Strategic Agenda Partnership Tripartite Collaboration SRIA Calls & Grants Monitoring & Reporting Advisory Groups Implementation of EOSC Metadata and Data Quality Research Careers and Curricula Technical challenges on EOSC Sustaining EOSC Get involved EOSC logo contest Join the Association Stakeholder Registry News & Events News Events Newsletter Association Board Secretariat Members GA Meetings Statutes Careers CONTACT Footer menu Contact Cookie Policy Privacy policy The EOSC Association collaborates with the European Commission for the implementation of EOSC, the European Open Science Cloud.
