Fleet Management Limited regrets to report that their managed tanker, Mari Couva (IMO: 9848584), broke away from the jetty and experienced a hose burst and subsequent methanol spill whilst at berth at the Marathon Petroleum-Los Angeles Refinery, USA, at approximately 18:00 local time on July 17, 2022.This bursting hose resulted in cargo spraying one crew member; his condition is stable and he is on the way to the hospital. All other crew have been accounted for and have commenced cleaning up cargo that has spilt on the deck. A quantity of methanol has been lost overboard.The Mari Couva immediately notified the US Coast Guard and local officials.
