And we’re hiring in the following areas:Custodian - maintains the highest standards of cleanliness and sanitation throughout the club (Full and part-time).Front End Attendant - welcomes customers, rents rooms and lockers, sells merchandise, launders towels and linens, cleans downstairs lockers (Full and part-time).Prep Cook/Dishwasher - assists the chef with food preparation and supports the kitchen by maintaining the dining area, bussing tables and washing dishes (Full and part-time).High School diploma and/or prior customer service, custodial, or kitchen experience required. In the meantime, Hawks PDX commits to participatory management where each employee is paid and valued equally, and where all collaborate to achieve business success. The "new location" was to open in August of 2020, offering a seamless transition between locations. Unfortunately due to Covid, everything has taken much longer than expected. The journey has been made more difficult due to recent price increases in both building materials and labor.Hawks PDX has had great difficulty with the city of Portland as well. The city is having issues getting our permits taken care of in a timely fashion. What used to take several months of processing has now taken over a year.Currently, we are about 70% done with our construction, our best projected opening date is sometime in the Fall of 2021. In the meantime, we understand that Steam Portland has re-opened their beautiful facility, we hear a fantastic time awaits patrons there. The short answer is ASAP, believe us when we say that our entire staff can't wait to see our members again, we miss you all terribly. Please know that our new location is well under construction near Mall 205. In the interest of privacy and safety we are not disclosing our exact location but know that Hawks is projected to open in early spring, 2021.Unfortunately COVID-19 has affected each of us and has changed social and business norms within our community and as a result everything has taken much longer than expected. The new location, near Mall 205, is still full steam ahead - however we do not have an opening date set for the NEW Hawks PDX, perhaps around Fall 2020.Our landlord did not give us any rent concessions through the pandemic and the amount of rent due through July was just too much. This, combined with the pandemic closure, pointed to permanently shutting down the SE Grand location.Without you, Hawks PDX would not have grown into the club it has become. We miss our guests and can’t wait to see you -- but there is much work to be done at the new place. Many of you are curious about what it will offer. Our county, Multnomah, is not one of them. This hiatus was implemented to protect our guests and employees from contracting the Corona virus. We simply could not make our guests maintain 6 feet of social distancing between each other and our employees. Even though this will be hard for our employees financially - WE will get through this.
