Instead, build a pedagogy that involves students.Cooperate, Don't Force CompetitionPractice cooperative activities  which build a supportive space for all students.Support Multi-Age ClassroomsCreate spaces where students can learn from each other, both across school ages as well as multigenerational learning.I remember when the pandemic started, I wanted an extension to this one class because the teacher never gave me the class code to join for the Google Classroom, all the assignments were posted. I had three assignments due in one day, but it was his fault for not giving me the code, but he was saying that I'm a good student and I shouldn't be complaining and I'm like, "I'm not complaining. I'm just asking you to understand."
