Inflection points of leadership behavior transformed when humans first began to plant seeds 10,000 years ago. They transformed 150 years ago when the Industrial Revolution separated the East from West, and 45 years ago when the post-industrial society was born. The speed of cultural eras is diminishing while the pace of the values indicative of a generation remain stagnant. The cultural era of the Dark Ages lasted 1000 years while our President, and all Baby Boomer leaders, were born in the Modern period, developed a worldview in the Postmodern epoch, and now lead in the Metamodern world, without consulting some very new pragmatic requirements.Three distinct cultural eras have already cemented a field of vision starkly in contrast to their younger predecessors. For at least three millennia we have been judgmental of the values of youth. Truth is always inconsistent with that of the previous power structure. We nearly always believe that the variance is a function of immaturity when it is really of function of ethics to navigate the world that lay ahead. The next generation, exactly because of their past, will never see the world the same way we do. It is my intention to use the wisdom of the ages to call on science and theory for prediction rather than reaction. Understanding will be the key for business, government, non-profits, and individual connection.
