The tables and chairs had no one in them, and the bright lights revealed a stark room with a tile floor and pale green walls. Someone driving by the strip mall in a suburb might wonder if The Perfect Sandwich was open. Joe stood behind the […]This Light by Bruce McAllisterThey come to see me, the villagers, by the hundreds.   From more than a single village.  From more than just my own.   I cannot leave my family’s two-room house because the Breath of Death, the plague of plagues, will reach us soon, but also because of what our village doctor told my parents:  Your dark daughter […]Payback by Martin LochmanPayback by Martin Lochman The Thing That Absorbed László and The Thing That Absorbed Janusz are still in the middle of the mess hall, and even though they don’t appear to possess eyes or any other kind of discernible visual organ for that matter, Helmut can’t shake the feeling that both are watching his every […]Echoes by R. MichaelJen stood at the edge of a precipice, uncertain how she’d gotten there. An arid gale tossed her bobbed, brunette hair, and she folded her arms close to her chest. Her hazel eyes rotated to the soupy gray-brown firmament that churned rhythmically. She stole a glance behind her but saw only sand and jagged rocks. […]Eight Ways by Mary E. I did, however, do a lot of writing online in the early 2000s, mostly contributing to pro-wrestling and … MoreFollow MeFacebookTwitterInstagramPinterestGoodreadsLinkedInClick the image to listen to my podcast!
