But most should go for timeless, so think KISS (Keep It Simple, Silly).No logos or crazy patterns. Plain colors are best, perhaps a fine-knit sweater or a sports coat for textural interest. A business casual look can be used for a wide variety of shots. For women, a modest v-neck tends to be flattering because it lengthens your neck and displays your décolleté. Make sure everything is clean and pressed.The exception to the rule is an Aloha shirt, that’s business casual here so if your business calls for it, bring one along.The fan favorite background with my clients is the custom painted dark blue background featured often in my portfolio. With dark backgrounds, I prefer rich colors (maroon, chocolate, navy, turquoise, etc.)Another popular clean background is a light gray. With that you can play with bolder colors (pastels, reds, power blues, etc.) to give you a pop of color on a neutral background.For jewelry, again keep it simple. These are edits where I look at a specific photo and manually apply edits. This can be anything you can think of, but the most common requests are skin retouching, teeth whitening, make me thinner and taking care of stray hairs.Where are you located?I am located in Kihei, Maui. I had a full studio on the mainland, but moving to Maui I’ve decided to cut back on expenses and utilize a home studio. And of course, the majority of my shoots I can take advantage of the natural beauty that Maui has to offer. I’m passing the savings on to my clients, and my pricing has been adjusted since moving to Maui.A photo studio in Kahului is available for rental for $75/hr with a 2-hour minimum.
