The new event date is Monday, May 8, 2023. “There is a crisis of violence in our communities,” says Connie Walker, an award-winning Cree journalist from Okanese First Nation in Saskatchewan. In her podcasts Stolen and Missing & Murdered, Walker investigates cases of missing and murdered Indigenous women and girls. In seeking to unravel the mysterious disappearance of Jermain Charlo—a young Indigenous mother who left a bar in Missoula, Montana, in 2018 and was never seen again—Walker’s work examines more broadly what it means to be an Indigenous woman in America.Q&A with journalist Wudan Yan.Event InfoGet Tickets Seattle Arts & Lectures cultivates transformative experiences through story and language with readers and writers of all generations. Learn More Community Community Access Tickets We believe that reading, writing, and creative thinking are indispensable to a curious, engaged, democratic society. Our goal is to make these experiences available to as many people as possible, regardless of economic circumstances—which is why we created our Community Access Tickets (CAT) program for our in-person and digital events.
