View all Events Ribbon cutting at Burke's Outlet Congratulations to Burke’s Outlet on their newest store location at 601 W. 18th St. in Portales. The store management team including Store Manager Melissa Bonem and Region Manager Damon Garner, celebrated the grand opening on Thursday, June 30 with a ribbon cutting ceremony hosted by the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce and its Ambassadors. Garner said the store had received a warm welcome. Chamber Executive Director Karl Terry said it was great to see an outstanding retail operation like Burke’s Outlet come to town. Business of the Month Congratulations to Snap Fitness, named Business of the Month for June by the Roosevelt County Chamber of Commerce. Owner/operator Darrelyn McCloud and his staff were busy with their Member Appreciation Day Friday, May 20 when the Chamber staff, board members and Ambassadors dropped by to present the award. McCloud is also active as an Ambassador himself. The business provides a full range of weights and machines for any workout as well as classes and personal trainers. They’re located at 1608 E. Spruce St., right in front of Walmart in Portales. Volunteer of the Month The Greek Society at ENMU was named Volunteers of the Month by the Chamber for June after the different chapters competed in a food drive that netted 6,000 pounds of food for the Community Services Center pantry in Portales.
