The project reflects both Hubble’s value to scientists as an asteroid hunter and how the public can effectively contribute to citizen science initiatives. heic2206 — Science Release Hubble observations used to answer key exoplanet questions Archival observations of 25 hot Jupiters by the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope have been analysed by an international team of astronomers, enabling them to answer five open questions important to our understanding of exoplanet atmospheres. Amongst other findings, the team found that the presence of metal oxides and hydrides in the hottest exoplanet atmospheres was clearly correlated with the atmospheres' being thermally inverted. heic2205 — Photo Release Celebrating Hubble’s 32nd Birthday with a Galaxy Grouping The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope is celebrating its 32nd birthday with a stunning look at an unusual close-knit collection of five galaxies, called the Hickson Compact Group 40. This snapshot reflects a special moment in their lifetimes as they fall together before they merge. heic2204 — Science Release Astronomers Detect Supermassive Black Hole Precursor Lurking in Archival Hubble Data An international team of astronomers using archival data from the NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope and other space- and ground-based observatories have discovered a unique object in the distant, early Universe that is a crucial link between star-forming galaxies and the emergence of the earliest supermassive black holes. This object is the first of its kind to be discovered so early in the Universe’s history, and had been lurking unnoticed in one of the best-studied areas of the night sky. heic2203 — Science Release A Record Broken: Hubble Finds the Most Distant Star Ever Seen The NASA/ESA Hubble Space Telescope has established an extraordinary new benchmark: detecting the light of a star that existed within the first billion years after the Universe’s birth in the Big Bang (at a redshift of 6.2) — the most distant individual star ever seen. This sets up a major target for the NASA/ESA/CSA James Webb Space Telescope in its first year What's New Release of the 2022 ESA/Hubble Calendar 16 Dec. 2021 — ann2110 Announcement of the ESA/Hubble and ESA Sky Collaboration 20 Oct. 2021 — ann2109 Announcement of the ESA/Hubble Word Bank 28 July 2021 — ann2108 New ESA/Hubble Online Assets: A Social Celebration of Hubble 14 May 2021 — ann2107 Announcement of the ESA/Hubble Chrome Browser Application 14 April 2021 — ann2106 Announcement of the ESA/Hubble GIPHY Account 7 April 2021 — ann2105 Release of FITS Liberator 4 18 March 2021 — ann2104 Interact with ESA/Hubble's Images with New App 3 March 2021 — ann2103 Announcement of the new Space Sparks Video Series 17 Feb. 2021 — ann2102 Release of the 2021 ESA/Hubble Calendar 1 Jan. 2021 — ann2101 Hubblecast 133: Spectroscopy with Hubble 16 Dec. 2020 — ann2010 Explore the Creations Submitted for Hubble’s 30th Anniversary! 26 Aug. 2020 — ann2009 Two New Hubblecasts Released for Hubble’s 30th Anniversary 27 April 2020 — ann2008 Call for Artistic Creations: Let’s Say Thank You to Hubble! 24 April 2020 — ann2007 Media Advisory: Hubble Space Telescope 30th Anniversary 23 April 2020 — ann2006 Wish Hubble a Happy Birthday! 10 April 2020 — ann2005 Update to Hubble Anniversary Image Unveiling Events due to COVID-19 19 March 2020 — ann2004 ESA-Built Hardware on Hubble Reaches 1 Million Degree Slew Milestone 5 March 2020 — ann2003 Event Postponed: Science with the Hubble and James Webb Space Telescopes Conference VI 4 March 2020 — ann2002 Hosts Institutions Announced for Hubble’s 30th Anniversary Image Unveiling 24 Feb. 2020 — ann2001 Picture of the Week 2 May 2022 — potw2218 Hubble Sees Double in M99 25 April 2022 — potw2217 Hubble Spies a Tenuous Diffuse Galaxy 18 April 2022 — potw2216 Hubble Inspects a Set of Galactic Wings 11 April 2022 — potw2215 Spiral Snapshot 4 April 2022 — potw2214 Hubble Spies a Serpentine Spiral Galaxy 28 March 2022 — potw2213 More Than Meets the Eye 21 March 2022 — potw2212 Hubble Spies a Stunning Spiral 14 March 2022 — potw2211 Eye of the Galaxy 7 March 2022 — potw2210 Hubble Snaps a Jet Set 28 February 2022 — potw2209 Not-So-Close Encounter Space sparks 25 April 2022 — heic2206a Hubble Helps Answer Key Exoplanet Questions ESA/Hubble science Newsletter ESA/Hubble/JWST Science Newsletter - April 2022 ESA/Hubble Facebook Hubble Space Telescope ESA/Hubble on Twitter Tweets by HUBBLE_space Top 100 Images Hubble's View of Jupiter and Europa in August 2020 Tapestry of Blazing Starbirth Westerlund 2 — Hubble’s 25th anniversary image New view of the Pillars of Creation — visible Rings of Relativity Galaxy NGC 2525 Extreme star cluster bursts into life in new Hubble image The Bubble Nebula Antennae Galaxies reloaded New infrared view of the Horsehead Nebula — Hubble’s 23rd anniversary image Magnetic monster NGC 1275 Hubble sees galaxies galore The Stellar Forge Hubble mosaic of the majestic Sombrero Galaxy Latest Saturn Portrait New stars shed light on the past Most detailed image of the Crab Nebula Hubble's 28th birthday picture: The Lagoon Nebula Spirals and supernovae Butterfly emerges from stellar demise in planetary nebula NGC 6302 ESA/Hubble Newsletters Link to Social Media Channels Privacy policy Accelerated by CDN77
