Discover how you can make a difference today.giving.arizona.edu News Flinn Foundation commits $5.52M to College of Medicine – Phoenix April 22, 2022 The Flinn Foundation has committed $5.5 million over five years to strengthen the University of Arizona College of Medicine – Phoenix's investment in translational research in cardiovascular diseases, neurosciences and mental health. The gift also will support pipeline training and education, as well as innovative research and development. "The College of Medicine – Phoenix is grateful to the Flinn Foundation for this remarkable gift. We are excited to expand our long-standing collaboration and shared goals of investing in innovations that help build healthy communities," said Guy Reed, dean of the College of Medicine – Phoenix. Read more At the heart of the UArizona campus, a new district is dedicated to student success April 14, 2022 The student experience at the University of Arizona involves many areas of student life: academics, social activities, health and well-being, and more. Students now have a single place to go, at the heart of campus, to find services and support in all these areas. University leaders celebrated the grand opening of the Student Success District, a nine-acre span of four buildings that house resources students need to thrive, including library services, learning support, tutoring, advising, mentoring, career services and health programs. Read more Construction scheduled to begin on new home for Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine March 16, 2022 The University of Arizona and UArizona Health Sciences announced Wednesday the completion of a $23 million fundraising effort to build a new home for the Andrew Weil Center for Integrative Medicine, part of the College of Medicine – Tucson. The 30,000-square-foot facility will be located on the UArizona Health Sciences campus at 1231 N. Cherry Ave. Construction is expected to begin mid-May and be completed in fall 2023.  Read more UArizona Wyant College of Optical Sciences raises $28M for endowed chairs Jan. 28, 2022 The University of Arizona James C. Wyant College of Optical Sciences has completed one of the most ambitious fundraising endowed chair campaigns for a single college in the university's history. Thomas L. Koch, dean of the Wyant College, announced that the college has received $28 million in donations and commitments to establish 14 new endowed chairs. Each endowment has been or will be established with initial gifts totaling $2 million. Read more Health Diagnostics Leader Quidel Corporation Makes $2M Investment in UArizona Jan. 5, 2022 Quidel Corporation, a leading provider of rapid diagnostic testing solutions, cellular-based virology assays and molecular diagnostic systems, has committed to give $1 million for scholarships that support tomorrow’s scientists and health professionals at UArizona and to make an additional $1 million investment in sponsored research projects. Of the scholarship gift, half will benefit the BIO5 Institute's KEYS Research Internship program. The remainder will establish the Quidel Global Health Scholarships. Read more UArizona Alumnus Established $2.3M Endowment for the R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy Dec. 20, 2021 Community pharmacist and University of Arizona R. Ken Coit College of Pharmacy alumnus John A. "Andy" Ware made an estate gift commitment establishing the John A. and Frances P. Ware Endowment prior to his death in March.
