OUR VISION WREA will be the strongest advocate for WRS participants and a high-quality public education system. Learn More Learn About WREA WREA has a rich and colorful history of protecting the Wisconsin Retirement System and supporting public education. "In 1951 the purpose for organizing was to build a pressure group to get legislation enacted to raise teachers' pensions. In the formative years, the organization did not realize that the problem of legislation would be with the association for the rest of its life." (Margaret A. Teuscher, June 30, 1975) Learn More WREA Goals WREA will continue to protect and improve the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and to oppose any proposals that threaten the long-term integrity of the fund. • Advocate for the legislative priorities and encourage members to participate in the legislative process • Keep current on legislative proposals/actions Download PDF Event Calendar View RSS feed more Members Legislative Foundation Resources WREA is the only Wisconsin association whose mission is to protect the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) and employs two paid lobbyists.
