The purpose of the Foundation is to support research in Motor Neurone Disease (MND), also known as Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) undertaken by Trinity’s MND research group. RMN also strives to increase awareness of this incurable disease at both a national and international level.MND research in Ireland is led by Orla Hardiman, Professor of Neurology at Trinity College Dublin and a world authority on MND and related neurodegeneration. Professor Hardiman is also the Health Service Executive (HSE) National Clinical Lead for Neurology. Ongoing research is needed to discover the cause, treatment and methods of improving quality of life for MND sufferers and their families. The generous support from our donors helps us make progress in finding ways to help those who suffer from this debilitating condition. It is through the fundraising endeavours of all our sponsors that essential funds are raised to support RMN and our ongoing vital research. Thank you all for your kindness and continued support.Read our 2021 Newsletter for an overview of key events and research involving RMN over the last 12 months. If you are interested in making a donation please click on the below link to donate directly and safely via credit card or to set up your own fundraisinghttps://rmn.ie/wp-content/uploads/2022/04/TRINITY-PRECISION-ALS-2022_HIGHLIGHTS-VIDEO_v4.mp4Trinity Precision ALS 2022The launch of precision ALS programme is an important step forward in research to find effective therapies for motor neurone disease. The research explore the biological reason why different patients with ALS have different trait. Bringing together bioscience and data science to develop a personalised precision medicine can provide the right treatments for the people at the right time. The good run is back! 2022The Good Run is Back once again. The Good Run is an annual charity run where all funds raised go towards supporting MND research and care. It has been raised over €100,000 for MND research and cares over the past 8 years.Fight For Motor Neurone Disease. Seán Woods and Roy Taylor have been battling Motor Neurone Disease (MND) for the last number of years. It has taken much from these two warriors, but not their determination to fight back. Sean and Roy’s goal is to raise funds directly for Research Motor Neurone, a world-leading MND research group led by Prof. Orla Hardiman at Trinity College Dublin. The more funds we raise, the more MND warriors we can get onto new promising clinical trials here in Ireland. For the first time ever, there is now light in what was a very dark tunnel. With your help we can give hope to our fellow MND warriors across Ireland and worldwide. So let’s climb together for Seán, Roy and over 400 families affected across Ireland to help defeat MND once and for all.Find out more, register for, or donate to this event through the links belowRegister DonatePrecision ALS Precision ALS will bring together clinicians, data scientists and AI experts to find new ways to treat motor neurone disease.A new €10m Irish project is looking to develop new and innovative treatments for patients with motor neurone disease by bringing together medical research, data science and artificial intelligence.Launched on 1st March at Trinity College Dublin (TCD), Precision ALS will build tools to enable clinical trials based on precision medicine, where treatments are personalised for individual patients. The project will be led by two Science Foundation Ireland (SFI) research centres: the Adapt centre for AI-driven digital content technology and the FutureNeuro research centre for neurological diseases.Read MoreAn International Collaboration To Find Effective Treatments For Motor Neurone DiseaseTRICALS is the largest research initiative to find a cure for ALS to date. 40 top research centres in 14 countries have joined hands with patient organisations and fundraisers to reach one goal: find effective treatments for ALS.
